Default Autotune pro for PV question

Just talked to FM on the phone, they said autotune pro requires PV hardware to be mounted on the bike while it is running. True? It upsets me I don't want that on my handlebar. Bummer!!

the stock ecm cant deal with the wideband sensors. so the pv converts it to something it can handle.

at least thats my understanding.

The big advantage of PV Pro is the better, more accurate Autotuning. If you want, just Autotune your bike with the Pro, then put the NB O2 sensors back on and your back to normal, or just run in Open Loop and take the PV off - the ECM wont care because you can set all the AFRs out of the CL range.

I've had the AT unit for two seasons now and I can tell you that the tuning is dead on with it. There is no need to switch back and forth between O2 sensors. When you feel your bike is running great you can strip the PV off and leave it at home Mine was home for a month and I just put it back on yesterday since the weather is taking a massive dive these days.Once you remove the PV the WB O2 sensors don't do anything but that is the same as the pc-v would do with the O2 sensor eliminators installed. You run on the current map until you feel you want or need to tune again.
I had stuck a dual lock velcro to my tank bib and one on the back of the PV and that did the trick + didn't cost a thing the velcro was provided.

Well, if I have to do that, there is no point getting autotune pro. I like to take advantage of autotuning using wideband o2. I just can't see myself mounting PV on handlebar. If I have a touring model, that's a different story lol.

Only have to mount/carry the PV when Autotuning, otherwise take it off.

I guess you were hoping the WBs would work with the ECM, that would be sweet or how about 12mm WB that works with the ECM

So you are saying once I remove the PV, the autotune pro will be disabled automatically and works like PCV o2 eliminators. If I get that right Make sense to me.
Now I use a ram mount when I do data logging, it doesn't bother me but I don't want to leave it on there permanently. That's all!

Well, I do trust the FM in house dyno map, probably close to 80% of the tune. The only thing I worry about is heat after the 107ci, I want to make sure the a/f is close enough, a cooler running engine.

the auto tune unit and the power vision unit must both be installed on the bike to tune the harley ecm with wide band sensors. once your ecm is tuned to your satifaction you can remove both units and reinstall the original narrow band sensors. Your ecm will keep the tune you created with the PV unit.
