I went from a sportster 1200C to a super glide custom about four months ago and I couldn't be happier. I was a little hesitant at first because I'm 6'1" and went from forward controls to mids, but after a week of riding with the mids, I have gotten used to them. In fact, I feel that I have better control not being stretched out on the bike. At any rate, I love my super glide. It is a pain to clean and polish all of the chrome but it's a labor of love.

I'm riding an 09 Low Rider, if I had to replace it tomorrow I'd go with a Super Glide especially now since they have the 103, most bang for your buck.

I've got one and love it to death. Just put on cycle shack slip ons that I got for free. My god is the bike louder.

You'll love the bike

Was mostly worried that the extra weight would mean less fun on the back roads. Not looking for a sport-bike, but enjoyed how nimble the sportster felt. On the other hand, everyne seems to agree that highway miles are way smoother on the Super Glide

I went from a 02, 883 Sportster to a 09 Super Glide Custom. Brought the Super Glide home on a U Haul trailer. I know it's at least 100 pounds heavier than my old solid mount Sporty. Just moving it around in the garage proved that to me. I'm 5'6" and 175 lbs. so I really feel like this is a big motor cycle. But hey, out on the road the Glide really shines. So much better than my old Sporty. Smooth, no vibration once off idle, and a lower center of gravity makes this scooter a joy to ride. I have mid controls and HYW pegs. Have a LePera daddy long legs seat to give my knees (bad knees) a little more room on the mid controls.
A lot of folks on here talk about the older bikes with a carb are easier to work on. That might be so, but my bike runs so good and starts so easy with the fuel injection. My old Sporty took forever to warm up with the carb and farted through the carb for the first couple of miles. I have to say, I
Think you will really be happy with what ever Dyna you chose.

If you're looking for backroad twisty fun, check out the Fat Bob. It's a great platform to build on for that, and you still have the Dyna comfort for long, high speed transits. Look up forum member izzyryder for some inspiration. He has the coolest Fat Bob I've ever seen.

With a few suspension upgrades, you can make any Dyna more nimble. I never rode a Sporty, but I'd put my FXDB up against any of the Euro-sport tourers on back roads. It's nothing like my old ZX-6 in the twisties, and I wouldn't want it to be. I bought a Harley to slow my old *** down (a little).

My wife rides one, it's lowered and she loves her FXDC.

Would I go back? No. I went from a 1200 Custom to 2013 SGC, also. I get as good mpg with the Glide as with the Sportster. The pegs had to be changed to forwards for me, and I'm adding 4" risers. The progressive fork springs are nice, but the rear shocks have to be changed. So, I'm going to wind up modifying it about as much as I changed the sportster. I had 13" shocks and Intiminators on the sport, so I'm scraping on some corners, now. The handlebars are a little wide, but I'm getting used to them. It is nicely balanced at the stock height, and rides on the insterstate better than the sportster. The Street Bob and Fat Bob are also fantastic choices. Good luck with your decision, and Happy Trails.

Got a 2010 FXDC. Excellent bike. I've always thought the SuperGlide Custom was the best bang for your buck really of all the bikes in the Dyna lineup.
