Thanks again all! Powder coat is great stuff, I've got some more to get done on the bike and now I'm looking around the house for things to coat, like the bathroom faucet would be cool
Derby and turn signals will be next and I don't know if the mirrors can be done with the glass still in them so may just have to get some to replace the stock ones.
I told the guy in town who did that I wasn't sure how the PC would wear on the brake pedal and he mentioned that if it did wear off he could always tape up the pedal and spray just the spot where your foot actually makes the contact with the Linex bed spray stuff. I thought that might not be a bad idea so we'll see. I expect this to last quite a while though. The only other time I've had something PC'ed was a set of rallye wheels for an old chevy and they were this gorgeous blue with a little sparkle in them but it was a smooth finish and man when it comes to washing, that was a great surface!
Anyway, PC is good stuff

Nice...Wonder if the texture black holds up any more? My brake pedal is wearing through a little where my foot rubs

It is the same chemical make up so it should hold up about the same, we use a super durable powder on shifters as that has a stronger salt spray resistance and hold up better.

Thanks! Yeah, it's kind of an in-between. In between the powder on the cases of the engine and tranny versus the finish on the primary cover and cam cover.
The engine and tranny are a lighter grain than the bolt on covers. I wonder how that happens from the factory? I would think it is they are two distinct types as opposed to say other conditions.

Member Joe might know and be able to shed some light why this is.
