Default Blowing oil

Ive got a 1340 fxds. Blowing oil on carb side, I ran a hose down from crankcase breather after everyone said it was blowing oil in carb. Took it out today and I have oil everywhere on the side of my bike, dripping down off bottom of gas tank, noticed it on top of oil filter and even around exhaust ports...what's the most common cause?

Overfull crankcase is usually the culprit. Drain some out and see if the problem doesn't go away.

Degrease and clean everything up. Then run it to see where the oil is coming from. Post a photo of the origin.

you can use a turkey baster to remove some of the oil from the filler cap

Check it again after its ran a few minutes. It may show overfilled then if you have a bad checkball in your pump.

Ok I can see it is leaking where the rocker arm cover sits on the cylinder head on the front cylinder. It's leaking pretty good and when I ride it it blows everywhere....gasket? Or do I have bigger problems? Is this something a novice can fix with a manual or should I take it in to get repairs?

If it is just the gasket you should be able to fix it with the help of a good manual.

From what I read it's the lower rocker arm metal gasket because the leak is coming from where the rocker arm cover sits of the cylinder head....I'm going to assume this will be a pain to fix myself
