Default Screaming Eagle Clutch spring (approx $35 dollars).

Been really ******* it off the line for awhile. I noticed some slip in the clutch during roll on and off the line acceleration. I just changed out the cam about 2 months ago and noticed it more. A friend suggested the screaming eagle clutch spring upgrade. Since its only about 35 bucks I figured what the hell. Man what a huge difference . The clutch just holds on tight now , simple and relatively cheap fix to make. Great modification. Should be standard mod on all stage one , big bore and cam additions. Clutch holds strong from start to finish off the line and anytime I shift now.

I went with the barnett HD clutch spring upgrade and for 30$ it is an even better heavier spring. The SE spring has about 20 extra lbs of torque before slippage the barnett, probably closer to 35.

Actually the clutch spring was sold as part of the SE 95" kit. So far I haven't had any issues but the next time I'm in the primary the spring will be changed out.

at first it was a bit stiffer and a little harder to pull the lever all the way in ; but as I got used to it I noticed it takes far less time for the clutch to engage so I am using my clutch lever far less. Its a bit stiffer but very manageable after you get used to the difference. I would not want a spring any stronger but this is a good compromise on clutch strength and clutch engagement.

I heard the other way around that the SE spring is a but stronger w/ thicker metal than the Barnett.

I have one installed since 107, no slippage grab tight. Best investment!
