Default Removing Smog Canister ?

Hello got a question, oh yes I got a 07 BOB (yeah yeah another BOB thread, but
I'm sure the other dyna's have this too....)

I got this Big Black Canister on the front of the bike (right behind the front wheel).

I assume this is for SMOG (please correct me if i'm wrong, and you can call me dumb..hahah) ?

How can this be Removed ? Anything to Gain (besides removing the ugly part) ?

Thanks

There was a thread quite awhile back about how to remove that thing, honestly I've had mine off for so long I don't remember how exactly I did it.Maybe try a search for "smog canister".Sorry, I do know that the bracket that holds it on is attached to the front motor mount so only remove one bolt at a time when taking off the bracket. The hose that runs under the tank isn't attached to anything so you can just pull it off. Then there are two more hoses one needs to be plugged the other left open, that's the part that I don't remember, good luck.

OK, common sense kicking in, one hose is a gas tank vent it needs to stay open the other one goes to the air cleaner plug it.There ya go.

That must be a California thing. I would suggest keeping whatever you take of so you can pass emissions again.........Just a thought.

Ca. is not smogging bikes.....yet. even if they did dont think they could enforce it on prior years (ex post facto).
