Default What next?

Not sure what to do next, just heads to bump compression or big bore & heads and what to expect for cost/gains for each? Any help/suggestions appreciated. Currently 96 cu in with cams, etc in my sig putting out 88 hp & 97 torque.
Thanks
B

sounds like your on the right path, but keep in mind if you go 107" + headwork you will need to bump your throttle body up and change injectors plus push rods and tubes. So from where you are now I'd say your looking at another 3000$ to 3500$

I think a Big Bore with thinner Cometic head gaskets for extra compression would be a great cost effective boost. If you go for headwork, I would go "all in": Big Bore, new cams, throttle body, etc but the cost as maddghost stated really goes up but so does the power....

I also started with a TW-555 cammed 96", and later added a 103" kit, mild ported head (stock valves), and thinner head gaskets. Unfortunately I don't have dyno sheets to see what I actually gained, but unquestionably I can feel the difference. Pulls harder through the RPM range. I

Some of the most fun, basic fun without all of the Frankenstein surgery, is just to get the 120R and a crisp firm clutch. You'll be chirping the gears at every shift and buying pump gas anywhere. Pay one price and ride all day.

107, clean up on the heads, .030 hg, compression releases, tune. 105/115+
If you have the money you could do extensive headwork, throttle body, injectors, etc and pick up some hp, but then you might as well change cams while you're at it and the list keeps on going. If you're just looking for a nice increase, keep it simple. The big bore and a head cleanup will be the biggest bang for your buck.

I don't have any specific numbers in mind. I just wanted to get an idea what the gains and costs would be for various options.

you will also need a clutch spring installed if you get it up at 100hp over that you will need some type of clutch to handle more power.that's another added expense. when you want those extra ponies it adds up quicker than you think. that's the problem I had with the 96er and the 555 cams it lacked compression and was very noticeable between 2200 to 3000 rpms right in the cruise area where u ride most of the time. after one month of riding had enough of it and stepped her up.
