Fule Gauge say almost empty when on the Jiffy-stand?
Ok,
Probably a silly question, but when my 04 Dyna Super glide is on the Jiffy Stand and the tank is full, the gauge says less that 1/2. Ride down the road for 10 minutes and it appears to read correctly. Does the SG lay over that far on the Jiffy Stand???
I've read here that some float arms are either bent or stuck on the over-spray of tank liner, but I don't think any of that is the case.
Anyone else have such a poorly registering fuel gauge?

The fuel gauge, and the low fuel light, are notoriously famous for their inaccuracies.
Best bet is to use the trip odometer for the miles ridden on that tankful, and reset it every fill up.
I can't even remember when I last looked at my gauge, and the light is sporadic at best to indicate how much fuel I have in it. Could come on at 85 miles, or 130 miles.

Full tank, resting on jiffy stand, fuel gauge (analog) reads full.
I guess I'm in a different crowd, I trust my low fuel light and gauge. On the highway light is very consistent at 140 to 148 miles, and needle on gauge is just below 1/4 tank of fuel left, the best I can see it without the reading glasses.

Wish there was an odometer on it. Probably need to find a different speedo with odometer....
Thanks all.
