My 97 Dyna won't start after having the carb cleaned?
Hi all, have a little problem here. I just bought a 97 Lowrider from a coworker and need a little help. When I bought the bike the PO never rode it much if at all really. I think he bought it because his friends had one. So he has had the carb cleaned several times by the same shop. When I purchased the bike and took it for it's first ride the bike wouldn't stay running without the enricher **** pulled. I was on the road so no problem, I just locked the **** and rode it. Other than that it ran great, pulled like a horse. I figured the low speed circuit was clogged so I dropped it off at the same shop to have them clean it. Well after that the bike will not start now. It did once with the choke out and the throttle maxed. This I believe is what you do when your bike is " flooded ". I have spark at the plugs. I put in new plugs too. Gapped at.040. The bike has 15k on it. I also installed a Hyper charger too. It has V&H Down sweeps.

I've only had one carbed bike, and if the carb top is removed the cable comes out with the top a spring and a sleeve. If the sleeve doesn't go down exactly right it remains in full open throttle position and becomes very hard to start and once it does it jus sceams but won't idle down. So my point is make sure that shop put your carb back together right.
When you say dropped "it" off do you mean the carb or the whole bike? If a shop pulled your carb apart they should have made sure it ran before giving it back.
Do the little doors on the hyper charger open freely?
Why don't you just use carb cleaner to clean out the carb?

Thanks all for the help. As it turns out the shop I left my carb with forgot to put the low speed jet back in! They couldn't even find it...lol. Needless to say he put in a new one and cleaned it up again for me at no charge. I put it back on the bike and she runs like a champ. I usually do my own work but was swamped fixing a friends Buell so I took a chance.
