Default Pics/review of Viking Bags Spear Saddlebags

Here are a few pictures of my Viking Bags Saddlebags Spear Shock Cutout (CHAR-800-PL). The bags are well made, stylish and they shipped quick. Once closed they are extremely secure. There is Velcro front and back, two outer latches and a lock on top. They look bigger than they are but I can get my cold weather gear in them. I do not have a helmet but I'd think it would be a tight squeeze for even a half helmet. I rate them a 9 out of 10 overall.
With the good comes the bad. There is a reason they give you the mounting hardware for free (that is what it's worth). The mounting process simply sucked. I am currently looking into Easy Brackets for a better mount but the freebies will do for now. http://www.vikingbags.com/harley-dyn...-5791-prd1.htm

I did mount them just a little low maybe but that allows me to access the Saddlebags when I have my large sissy bar luggage with backrest strapped on. There seems to be no heat problems from the exhaust.

They do look good on there though! Especially with the fairing on the front of it. Superglide I'm guessing?

Thanks Gearhead. Yes that is my 2007 Superglide I've had since new.

It looks very clean. Factory paint? If so, you can definitely tell you take care of it!

expy,

A little off topic but is that a Motherwell rear fender rack? If so, how do you like it? Any issues with the rack scratching the paint on your fender.

Thanks.

That is the factory Fire Red Pearl on the Tins. Everything else is paint by Autozone/O'reilly's . It has held up very well.

Thanks.

The rack is a Motherwell. I've had it loaded heavy and have never had any issues. I would have liked it to be a little more wide and flat but it has worked well for me.
