I swapped my 2009 stock seat and went for solo seat and added a passenger pillion seat.
The width of that seat is 9.5-10" and much more comfortable than stock 2-up, thats what my wife tells me after riding with me on this seat

You dont need a kit, you just remove the 2 bolts that hold the chrome fender tab on, and attach it to the back of the pilon. Then you screw the pilon to the seat using the same holes the fender tab was screwed onto. The only thing i couldnt salvage was the rubber pads you put on your fender for protection. pm me if you want to know anything else about it!
