Default Turn signal/brake issue

How does the taillight know when to ignore the brake power signal and keep flashing? My turn signals stay lit instead of blinking when the brake is engaged

Sounds like your module is at fault, it should shut down the brake light to the light that the turn signal is activated on upon receiving the signal for turn signal from the TSM.

I tried swapping the tssm with a friends module. My bike is 2009 and his is 2012. Same results. Tried the brake relay and lighting relay as well from his bike. I also tried installing a triple play with no luck. This all stemmed from replacing rear fascia and lights with CVO style lights.

Doesn't work like that, tssm has to do a password learning proceedure when you swap either the tssm or the ECU. If the bike just had a TSM and you were swapping a TSM between the two bikes no issue. But again I say it sounds like the add on module is at fault and not the tssm.

I believe it was a TSM. Neither bike has security. Some device should stop the brake wire signal when the turn signal is energized to allow the signal to keep blinking

Exactly there has to be a module probably located under the seat interrupting the main wire harness to the rear fender harness. That is where I think that you will find the issue.

Check to make sure your using the right type of bulb. 1157 bulbs have two filaments to perform two things at once. 1156 bulbs only have one filament.
