I guess I'm a little slow but are you suggesting I am advertising these? Just keep using you soldering iron. I couldn't care less.

A waterproof soldered connection without separate tape and crimped butt connectors or solder.

I've used those, they're very nice to work with however I prefer a little more solder than these offer. If it wasn't for that these save a lot of time.

When you use heat shrink over a soldered connection it's hard to keep the heat shrink cool enough not to shrink when you are soldering if the wires are very short. The whole connection is done with a heat gun in one step which would be much easier than having to solder the wire then shrink the tubing. When you solder two small short wires in close quarters it isn't east to keep the wires together while heating them to a high enough temperature that they will hold the solder and not melt the insulation off the wire.

If the wire is hot enough and you use Flux core solder it doesn't take much solderto make a correct splice.

It’s a fascinating concept if it results in a secure low impedance connection. I’m gong to order some to test out.

Edit: I read the reviews that are clearly Chineese English writen by the manufacturer. I really like the one that says his brother in the Navy uses them all the time on ships. BS!

F em..I’m gonna stick with soldered barrel splices with shrink wrap. That way I know the splices are secure.

I think I'll keep my soldiering gun, been using it for 40 years and never had a cold solder yet, always a good connection, and lasts forever.
