Default Can some help me on wiring

Okay so I’m wanting to install a Kuryakyn Road Thunder Sound bar to replace The Boss Rebel unit I have. It’s on a 2005 Heritage Classic. Not very good at wiring so basically on the Rebel I ran hot to hot and ground to ground. I wired hot into a switch I can flip manually, couldn’t figure out an accessory wire that only comes on with ignition. Now here’s a pic and I was wondering about that plug in lower right corner with the rubber cap. Is that a plug and play from factory I can purchase a pigtail and splice the Sound Bar wires you so I have power and power only when ignition is on? If so does anyone have part number?

My suggestion is to look behind the headlight plug for an orange wire with a white stripe and a black wire next to it. On my FLHR these are a switched power source, orange is positive, black is negative. I f you don't have those wires I would test wires to headlight and tap in there...

I just went through what you are going through. I installed a camera system on my bike that had three wires. Two for the posts on the battery and a yellow one to go to a power source that comes on and off when I turn the bike on and off.

You can hope and pray you pick the right wire, but you really should get a manual for your bike and learn to read the wiring diagram.

I found where another had spliced into a wire and I found that same wire on my bike, verified it was the right choice on the wiring diagram and then tapped in with a T-Tapper.

That 8s the ECM data port plug, younreally don't want to m.j ess with that, there is a wire going to the tail lights at the disconnect for the rear fender wire harness that you can tap into (O/W) that is the accessory wire that feeds to the fender tip light.

you guys really dont want to be toying around with the ECM diag port..theres a MUCH safer methind as mentioned by Zanthamos...

in the pic you supplied showing the battery, on the right side of the bike, ( top of pic) theres a connector for the rear lighting that disappears under the rear fender, tap into the rear tail light feed, its the same as the plate light.. i think its purple/black
