Default 98 fatboy tail light assembly replacement

The new tailight assembly does not have a connector for the ground wire, i.e., only 2 wires. The ground wire had a spade connector on the old assembly. What has anyone done with this wire when installing a newer unit?

Are you talking about a new OEM part?

It's an OEM replacement from Dennis Kirk.

It should ground by contact with the fender, that is the way HD did it up until the early to mid `90s.
