New battery, doesn’t always power up
#11
There’s no counter for starts. I’d look for the standard stuff:
- loose connection
- check the main fuse terminals for corrosion…I always count the fuses terminals with dielectric grease
- weak fob battery
- weak main battery. Yup, sometimes new ones can be bad. Take it to an auto parts store to be load tested.

Thanks to everyone who looked and took the time to impart some wisdom. Last time I had to try anything with the bike was Wednesday night. Didn’t find any fixes or causes.
Thursday and Friday were spent working for my ABATE chapter. Got to the bike Saturday afternoon and she fired up like she would never ever have thought of causing me problems. Went through the diagnostics and found no faults. I’m as baffled now as I was before, but much happier.
