98 Fatboy....have Spyke 1.7KW starter...great starter but in the past 2 weeks it has been a misery. Starts to turn over then just clicking..now just clicking. Battery checked out fine...340 CCA. I replaced the starter relay since it is OEM..no luck. I am thinking solenoid...but when I removed the cover plates the copper looks new. Any further testing i can do before I remove this thing??

 

check your - and + battery cables thoroughly. Don't just look at the outside of the cables. make sure your - cable is secured properly to the battery and to the bike frame and there is no corrosion or rust anywhere around it.
