Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
No it fills my need for speed when I can afford to go to the track. If gas costs stay down I'll get to play next season. After I get Scooter fixed. ;-) Livin on SS. Will start on it later today!
Most problems on Evo's as well as T/C's stem from inside the cam chest area.
As Kirby said, could very well be an inner cam bearing, or a lifter roller that has raised havoc.

very nice car.i had a ft engine dragster before I moved to florida, like to get a T,fiat or a bantam alterd.back onto your noise though, check all the lifters rollers too
make sure you check to see all the rollers are still there.if not,do your best to find them all (pull the breather gear to see if they went in the F/W area, thats where they`de end up.ide also pull the pump,if pieces stayed in the cam chest, thats where they`de end up).check your cam very carefully for any damage too.
