Default 103 c.i. stage 4 kit

anyone you motor techs done any studies on this kit? I understand by installation one can achieve around 103hp and 110ft torque. but i also understand you really don't see this power until about 3500 rpms? I put a lot of miles on a year 20,000+ I am not a speed demon by any means but I do like to have plenty of available power for passing, getting the hell out of the way and such. anyone have any input?

thanks

Give Hillside a call, Scott can put you a 107" kit together with Stage 2 heads that will make more power, power will come in at lower RPM and it will be cheaper than a SE Stage4 kit.

Over on HHT:

Jim built this one with HD Stage 4 kit, he change the perfect fit PR out to adjustables and the cam to a S&S 570. the rest is HD stage 4 with 6 cc pistons and Stage 4 Heads untouched, 58mm TB. VH X pipe.

Another over at HTT:

2014, 103", FLHX, STG. 4 build DDFC, 2-1

This build was assembled at another dealer and tuned here. The dip is there to stay. Makes decient power but those damn 259e cams do not like tuning in very easy.

Another option would be pick your flavor of independents/ sponsors of the site and develop a game plan. Everything from mild to wild. Pending on how deep your pockets are and what is your performance goals.

Based on your location in your profile Tman performance is about 210 miles from your location but, that doesn't mean big brown (UPS) makes life easier. Many great independents on the forum and would probably give you a bigger bang for your buck than a canned kit from Screamin Chicken.... Even boring out your stock cylinders to 107" cause nothing beats displacement. Just make sure the parts your select work together from displacement, cam, air cleaner, exhaust and tuner (even having it done in the hands of a competent builder/ tuner)

There are two 103" Stage IV kits; "street" and "race". If you go that route, go the "race" route.

However, like BigMoney suggests, if you are capable of doing the work yourself, work with one of the forum sponsors to work out a package that will deliver better results than the HD Stage IV kit. Scott/Hillside Cycles or Kirby/VTwin Perfomance will work with you to put together a package; all you have to do is install and tune.

wow thanks for the response guys. just contemplating. getting ready to pull trigger on 2015 ultra, don't want to pay 40 grand for a CVO but can justify stage 4 on an ultra low even with stage 4 price will be 5,6 grand cheaper.
