Was thinking about some KB. Have also seen some others on Ebay for cheap. Want decent quality. Leaning towards SE cast or KB's

I think that the cast pistons are done by Mahle and the SE forged pistons are done by J&E if I remember correctly.

The low bidder makes the H-D pistons. I am not sure who is making what now but Mahle's aftermarket division made the SE cast pistons in 2014; that may not be so now. Ertle was another possible manufacture of the cast pistons. Arias used to make the HD pistons but have not for a couple of years now. I don't know who makes the forged pistons; could be JE as Uncle Larry says, I don't know for sure.

KB pistons are OK but the "special" instructions on gapping the top ring and the install of the oil wiper ring rails is important. If that is not done right the top ring will close and try to pull the upper ring land off. Personally, I would rather not use a piston that required "special" install instructions but KBs will work if the special instructions are followed.

Can't go wrong with Wiseco....and when you do replace them go with a 10:1. They make for a real good moderate build.
