Default ACRs/Install ? vs S&S EZ Start Cams

I'm doing some work to my 96" 2011 Road King. It's getting tired so I pulled the engine and will do a 103" or 107" bore. I have new ACR heads in hand but my engine did not come with ACRs. When I took the bike apart I found what appear to be ACR connections plugged into dummy plugs. My question is, if I install ACRs will I need an overlay harness? It doesn't appear that I will because the plugs are already there.

As a side note: I'm interested in opinions on S&S EZ Start cams vs ACRs. Thanks in advance.

PS

A friend came by as I was finishing up pulling the engine and asked what I was doing. I told him I was changing the oil and wanted to get it all out; his jaw dropped to the floor

I transplanted a 103HO in my 07. Just got it back from the dealer, they activated my ACR's for $215 this included labor and the harness . Very happy, starts sooo much better

if any of the S&S cams fit the build your thinking about, ide go with the EZ starts over the ACR`s

Install ACRs in the heads, plug them in, and activate the ACR function with Digital Tech or a flash tuner.

I will add that I didn't get mine activated for higher performance, it was to eliminate the hard starts, for $200 it was a lot cheaper than cams for me.
EZ start cams would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

The 2011 wiring harness shows ACR wiring. You got the heads.. IIRC some 2011 models are 103s so they like used the same harness / ECU.. Sounds like you are there as far as ACRs go.. With ACRs you are tied to SnS cams..

I'm impressed if you pulled that motor by yourself..

What you didn't see was the Harbor Freight engine hoist and strap. I'm not man enough to lift that thing (or put it back in) without some mechanical help.

I did do all the work by myself, without anyone here. I read the manual section a couple times, put the book down and got after it. In three hours it was on the floor (not broken or dinged up). I can't say I'd want to do it once a month, but it isn't a hateful job. I am a rider who's forced into doing mechanical work; some of which has been done at the side of the road, if you call the Dalton Highway a "highway".

That`s because of the design of the ez starts is based on physics.
