Which cam? EV-72/T-MAN 590/T-MAN 625 OR WOODS W9B
Wanted to get some input on my cam selection from everyone...
The bike is an FXR with the 80 evo. Hillside will be doing the work on it soon and my plan is to add a higher comp(10.8-11:1), stage 2 headwork, woods or E carb, 2-2 bassani pro street exhaust, ignition and then theres the cam. I understand the possible power loss associated with the 2-2 vs the 2-1 but I grew up around the older bikes and I love the sound of a built motor, healthy cam and 2-2 pipes.
I ride down low and on the high end. I want to be able to walk away from buddies or just scare myself if need be but also ride 2 up at times. I would love for the bike to display some low end grunt but if i had to choose between the two, i choose mid and top end. I think the bike is factory geared to where it will not make or break the riding experience. Its a '93.
As picky and unimportant as this sounds, I also want an aggressive came lope. I have heard many with these cams that sound terrible but i am assuming it is from an idle too low or compression too low....or both. 11.1 compression should lay that to rest. I spoke with Bob Woods and he recommended that compression and stepping up from the w9 to the w9b. I am leaning that way but i spoke with T-MAN and also have always been interested in the ev-72. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup?
Thanks

I want it loud. Loud crackly lope and the ground pounding crackle when I wrap the throttle. It's a weekend cruising bike...lowered, 3* rake...just a fun bike. I have heard that several times now. That's great. I like the 2-1 looks but not as much as the 2-2's. They are the better looking pipes that I have seen so far.
I guess a lot of info gets thrown around about 2-2 pipes killing perf. I just want a cam that cracks the whip and tries to send the bike out from under me...if I can do that and keep somewhat of some street manners...bonus.
