Either would be a good choice. The SE203 is more of a bottom end cam and meant more for baggers while the SE204 is more of a mid range cam and meant more for the ligher softails. Without knowing how you ride, difficult to say which would be a better fit but I am guessng that you would prefer the SE204 over the SE203.

Two other cams you might consider are Andrews products; TW21 and TW26. Similar to SE203 and 204; the 21 is more of a bagger cam and the 26 more of a softail cam.

It would be a good idea to change cam chain tensioners and inner cam bearings and add the Baisley LMR-002 pressure relief spring as part of the cam upgrade.

mwsanford I would recommend you do some searches on this site regarding cam selection. You do not mention your riding style (I live for the top end, or I want power off the line, or I need more pull up the hills) or your size, or if you ride two up a lot.

I don't have all the answers but can comment on my Andrews 21 cam set up. Now I have a Road King and the A motor if that matters. But I am a big guy and ride 2 up about 25% of the time. I wanted power, and lots of it down low in the RPM range. Right where most Harley riders ride on an everyday basis.

I did a lot of research for cams for an 88" motor (different than the 96 or 103s) and this one seemed the best for me. Well let me tell you I am more than pleased with the performance of this cam. Totally woke up my motor. Fast off the line, pulls like a tractor up hills, and kept all or more of the performance on the top end compared to the stock cam. For everyday riding/touring you would love this cam.
