Default Think of a cam swap

I have a 04 ultra with stage 1 hillside heads set at 9:8 compression , 98" jugs and the screaming eagle hydraulic cam plate with Andrews 26 cams. This set up made 95hp and 107 tq. Is there a cam that would give me more power. I want the torque to come on down low and pull hard through all rpm. Love this set up but the 26 seems to fall off around 4500 rpm.

You should talk to Scott. Absent his recommendation, cam selection is no limited by static compression and lift; I don't see many options without more compression and, perhaps, more lift as I don't know how the heads were set up. The first cam that comes to mind is the Andrews 48, assuming that the heads are setup to handle the higher lift.

I'll give Scott a call and see what he says. Not sure if a cam swap would have enough gains to even be worth it. Just looking for recommendations

107TQ/95HP is pretty typical for a 95"/98" low compression motor with small cams. Currently in the process of upgrading a 95" (104TQ/96HP) to a 98" motor with 110/115 numbers the goal. Better set of heads, .620" lift cams, more throttle body and compression will get me there.

I do think you would pick up a bit from the 48 both in peak numbers and the curve should move a bit to the left. Whether the marginal increase is worth it or not is a decision you would have to make.

a little off subject, but a question for those who have done a cam change.
is it possible to remove the lifters from the bottom when the cam assy is removed or do the lifter blocks have to come off to remove them?
only because I will soon be swapping my cams and lifters and need to know if will need new lifter block gaskets?
the factory service manual does not say yes or no regarding this.

I made 104 hp and 112 ft lb of torque with a set of RS .557 cams using a 44mm CV carb in my 98" there is absolutely no reason for a person to use a cam that has .620 lift in a 98" engine. Can you say, "over cammed"? Put a 1.90 intake and a 1.63 exhaust in the heads and put a good tune it.

So not true....... Lift is not the only characteristic you should be looking at... 96"er @115/109 (Evo, Hehe....)
