Default 58mm TB, When to upgrade?

Built a pretty warmed over 107 but stuck with the stock intake thinking i am keeping some torque with the increased intake velocity. Am i losing anything by not upgrading, if so what is it? (FM C heads, 11.6 static compression, Reaper 594 cams, 5.3 injectors, Power Vision)

I guess that would depend on what your heads flow..

Op, what are your numbers? I am running those cams in my 117" 'B' motor along with a Maxflow 58/55mm TB and 5.3 injectors, it is making 123/126 with the standard D&D Fat Cat at the moment.

My bet would be that you will miss power from TQ peak to max HP with a throttle body that restricts head flow. Kind of like you can't open the throttle all the way on a larger TB.
With the larger TB, you won't loose any low end TQ.. For me the low end TQ is defined by the overall flow characteristics of the head when looking at the intake tract and not the TB.

58mm with 4.9 injectors made a noticeable difference on my cookie cutter set up. Like mentioned above, heads factor in.

My C ported heads from FuelMoto have 1.76" intake ports. More than likely am leaning towards the HPI-55FBW-76. Probably won't see much gain under 3k rpms but all gains above that! Thanks for that Dyno graph!

Engine build is similar to the older FM Hellraiser 107 build with a few changes, just never upgraded the throttle body.

IME a stock 50 is good for around 115hp "generally". I would guestimate a 107 at that compression and cam should be easily in the 120's.

I have R&R stage 4 heads in an all bore 107. Just swapped out cams this summer from andrews 67 (eek) to Tman 590. Anyway, had the tuner polish up the 50 up. Made 120 on the retune with 130TQ. Had planned to upgrade to a wild things 57mm for cheap that he had, but couldn't get it to work without a bunch of other mods to the intake. Told me the SE 58 would get me 5-8HP on the top and maybe 1-2 under the curve. Said in his opinion it wasn't worth the $400. I agreed.

What was it about the 67's that you did not like?
I am putting together a 107 and was going to use the 57's due to the good reviews from the pros on here.
