Default Cleaning throttle body

I have my throttle body off and noticed that there is black goey gunk on inside of throttle body and what's the best way to clean it and should i remove the TMAP sensor before cleaning? Also if I need to remove TMAP can I reuse the bolt the manual says to throw away and use a new bolt?

Yes , remove the map sensor , you can reuse the bolt , no problem , just check the o-ring for damage and replace if necessary . Get yourself some Seafoam or TB cleaner and go at it with a small paint brush , like you would use for art , gently open the butterfly , it's on a gear you don't want to break , clean the tb seat as well ( where the butterfly closes ) . .

Now , might be a good time to consider doing an external breather , keep that gunk out of the tb .

yes there is a dealer 60 miles away and won't be in that area till weekend. I also have my breathers vented to atmosphere, maybe time for new hoses.

If you already have external breathers, then you're running with a little too much oil in the motor. Remove a little at a time, keep an eye on it, and you should see less gunk in the tb. I don't think it has anything to do with hoses.
