Default Cam install blues

Installed the andrews 27 cam with the quikee S&S push rods. Adjusted the push rods 20 flats. Made sure it was on the flat of the cam not the lift when adjusting. As per andrews, if the original cam is red dotted its a direct fit. Mine was red dotted so I didnt pull the gear of the original cam. Installed S&S lifters. Used assembly lube on everything. Replaced the oil seal for the cam. Replaced cam bearing. New gaskets for the lifter housings and the nose cone. Made sure the lifter housing gaskets were lined up with the ports for oil flow. I have tapping like its lifter clatter. Oil is aerated in tank. Changed oil filter before start up. I also installed a new cam chest breather with the proper spacer. All gears were alighned with their timing marks.

Any ideas? What did I screw up? It went together pretty easy. I also cleaned and rebuilt the cv40.

sorry man, someone smarter will come along than me. As for the noise?
A couple of quick questions: did you soak the lifters? and the pushrods?
Upon start up, how long did you let it run with the clatter?
How many times did you start it?

IF the lifters were not soaked, and IF the oil pump was not primed, it takes some time for everything to get oiled.
AND even if you THINK you did it right, correct, start completely over with all of the adjustments. JUST to be sure.

I know. My first time was NOT correct... after I reset and adjusted everything, started up and no clicking.

As for the oil aeration....don't know.
