Default Braided oil line leak

I have aftermarket braided stainless oil lines on my 96 Fatboy. Two of the fittings are leaking one of them pretty substantially at this point. It appears it is the fitting themselves and not the connection. I see a set of washers being sold I do not see any washers between the fittings and connection points on my bike. Are the washers for inside the fittings and if so how are they changed?

What exactly did you put on your bike??
A '96 should be using hose clamps not washers.

They were on when I bought it. They appear to be aftermarket braided stainless lines with what appears to be an fittings or something similar. Unknown brand no markings.

You'll have to take apart what is on there and inspect it. A proper AN braided connection would require fittings to screw into the block, then the AN hose fitting would connect to that. I think that's what you are probably seeing as "washers" for hose fittings. These are kind of a kludge for a damaged fitting. I doubt you would have proper AN fittings on there anyway. If you take some pics, we may be able to help more.

The lines look like this https://www.amazon.com/Goodridge-Ste.../dp/B000GZOPY6

These are the washers https://www.denniskirk.com/goodridge...prd/492680.sku

I don't see where the fittings can be taken apart on these. You are right they don't appear to be a true an fitting.

Those look really nice....BUT...those fittings have a swivel in them...that allows you to tighten the fitting without the hose turning...when they start to leak...they are done.

I always use braided hose cause I like the look...but I always use regular hose barbs...and the fake covers for the hose clamps that "kinda" look like AN fittings if you don't look too close. Most people never know the difference.

I have no idea where those washers go. Note that the fittings into the block or oil pump are tapered pipe. They don't use washers, seals, gaskets, etc. I think you need to pull one of those hoses off and see how it is made.

I am thinking there is an o ring or some type of internal seal. The leaking ones the swivel is loose compared to the ones not leaking. I see no way these come apart without destroying them. I think the washers might be for some other type of oil lines.
