Default Vance & Hines baffle rattle

I picked up a pair of V&H slip on mufflers that seemed to be in good shape however now that they are installed the baffles are rattling around. There is a screw on the bottom holding the baffles in at the outlet end. The rattle sounds like it is happening at the inlet end where there are no screws.
How do I fix this? Pull them off, drill a hole and through bolt them at the inlet end?

You could remove them and install big city thunder baffles.

Pull them and see if a simple 'muffler tape' wrap around the inboard end will stop the rattle.

Are the baffles wrapped ?

I have used stove rope to wrap a baffle and took out a baffle rattle toward the front.

I checked it out and the baffle would rock back and forth a little causing the noise I could hear. I tried to tighten it up but it did not hold so tonight I applied a little JB Weld over the places that moved. I'll see how well this fix works in the morning.

Worked just fine so far, at least it is still holding after the 80 mile commute to work. I like the sound of these better than the ones I had on it. A good rich deep tone.

Default This is BS - VH needs to address the rattle issuess!

My VH slip ons are driving me nuts. I've never had anything like this with past pipes. I have got to fix it - it sounds like they are rattling around in the canister. D

I have been chasing a rattle for awhile. After reading this post I realized it started right around the time I had to put the baffles back in to get it inspected. I'll have to look into that!
