400 miles on the company dollar
Well the day job required me to go south to Rotorua for the World Outdoors Summit and as the weather forecast was good I opted to ride there on my Lowrider.
I had plenty of time on Tuesday so I took the long way round, cutting east off Highway 1 from South Auckland and across to the East Coast to ride through Clevedon, Kaiaua and then Miranda and Matamata.
I had been for a massage (no happy ending) that morning and so was ridiculously chilled as I cruised off into the countryside.
Lunch was at Kawakawa Bay Dairy (in NZ a dairy is not somewhere with cows, its where you buy pies and Lollies (Candy) and other such things).
I was having way too much fun riding and so didn't stop for too many pics but here are the views around Kaiaua..
..and here is cellphone video of me leaving the same town...
I had 30 mins of thunderstorm to endure going over the plateau into Rotorua but it cleared up just fine as we took the gondola up to the Skyline Restaurant for lots of free food and drink
Rotorua (known locally as "Vegas") is basically a huge volcanic caldera full of water
At the final Gala Dinner my nomination for the Organisation Award (Potiki Adventures, a Maori Outdoor Adventure Company) won!!!!
Which is how I ended up getting very drunk with two tattooed lesbians (Bianca and Ngahina who run Potiki)
I get paid for this.....

Lucky Guy!
I travel locally for work with trips averaging about 2 to 3 hours. I would love to ride the bike on these trips but our corporate policy states no motorcycles or personal aircraft can be used for company travel. I also have a company car so I can no longer use my personal vehicle and charge mileage.
