Refresh my memory.
Where are you at and what do you have yet to do.

I am debating on just ordering one upper lower middle and one umbrella vs ordering a whole kit. If I need anything else the prices get close and I think I might need a few random pieces.

T, you send me a bunch of o rings in various sizes not sure about those yet either. Did you send two pushrods worth?

Have a look, if the existing gaskets are paper then replace them.

89" kit, EV5 or 57, bunch of machine work like trueing the cylinder bases... updating the trans with 01 and later stuff, fork rebuild, new bearings, paint, wiring etc... just a good proper ground up rebuild.

More questions. I'll try to make them brief since I have so many

1). What is this number for? Any idea?

2) concerned about the wear shown on the top of the valve stems where the rockers contact. Is this normal?

3) any way to measure the rockers without having everything installed? The only thing in the book was clearance between the arm and valves which I can't do right now.

The gaskets were toast. Glad I pulled them off. They've been leaking for a long *** time.

1: Quality control checker ID

2: Worn but Ok for a good while yet

3: What do you want to measure on the rockers?

4: Yup, 2 piece paper gaskets, always worth the effort to change

Thanks Spanners. Just making sure an expert approved the wear. On the rockers it is the same just wear no pitting or anything on those.

At this point I feel I might as well pull the cylinder heads off and replace the head gaskets and clean up the carbon build up.

I'm not pulling the jugs. What thickness should I get for head gaskets and what brand/material?

If your gonna pull the heads I think you should go ahead and pull the jugs.
You can go back with cometic gaskets at that point and your oil leaking is over.

But then I'm talking honing and rings and the price difference is going to be a lot.
