Default Need a complete primary drive setup

Rebuilding my 92 flhs got the motor and trans done. Got to the prime drive and it's completely worn-out. Looking through j&p can get a complete bdl belt set up for$600 . J&p part # 603-967. Has no reviews so I'm asking here for some input as to which way to go. Trying to stay affordable so no crazy suggestions please. If you have used this set up would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Bdl is a good product. The issue people have with the enclosed drives are getting them cooled because they are closed. Run vented derby and inspection covers. I have quite a bit of miles on my 3 inch bdl open and I love the thing. Very simple and easy to remove

Try Robs Harley parts in Va. 703-476-6607. He should have what you need at a fair price.

Im running the BDL set up as well and its worked out great. They actually have a nice vented primary cover that i've been looking at getting. Think its made by V-Twin? But you can just look they have them on ebay.

I was thinking about converting my 91 FLSTC to an open 2" BDL belt-drive. I have shied away from that though due to so many accounts of oil leaking past the sprocket-shaft seal on the engine. I don't know if this is something that can't be resolved (lots of people say they can't), or if it would even affect the setup you're considering, just something for you to take into account.

I have a 3" BDL open on my bike. 22k on it with NO issues at all. I did replace the belt due to a rock getting flipped up on the belt and it punched a hole in the belt. Just cosmetic but, I replaced it anyway.

That's good news - I did wonder if you were being a bit quick off the mark!
