^^^^^I am very fortunate to also have a 2015 limited. I'll be riding that until I get the evo back together. I might just hold off putting everything back together until after vacation. I'll have some extra cash and may as well upgrade the forks while I have it all apart. I ride the evo solo, and use the limited for 2 up riding. I hate having unfinished projects.

What upgrade are you going with for your front forks?

 

I haven't decided. Will probably get suggestions from the bros on this forum. 0maha just did his, I'll have to re-read is thread to see what he used. I know Graham did his a while back too. Neither the front, nor the rear hold air for more than a couple of days. So the suspension is in need of an upgrade.

I'll be converting my 93 FLHS to a solo seat, as I no longer have the confidence to ride two up. And for the most part, I only ride to/from work on mine, with the occasional putt out to my lake house. I've been looking for a reasonable sidecar for my 93, but those are rare. If I was going to do any extended two-up, I'd be looking into a Tri-Glide. The problem with either, is finding a place to store them in when not riding.

 

I sure have a love/hate relationship with my batwing.

Love the look. Love the wind protection. Hate having to do any front end work. Certainly puts you in "MAW" mode once you've got it apart!

I put Progressive cartridge inserts in mine. Much improvement over the stock setup. I wish I had a frame of reference on the Progressives vs other options (mainly a bigger bux cartridge setup from MM), but for now, I'm happy.

 

Which Progressive cartridge did you go with? May I asked what the price was?

 

The model number is 31-2508. Spent $350 ish.

 

Just a question, when you are filling the tubes with oil from the top you do have the whelk off the ground and the forks extended out right? I've done the oil like you did on my RK from the top without any problems. I've also done it with a mighty vac, a little messy but it got the job done.

 

^^^ Yeah. I have the bike up on the jack, no wheel or even fender on it right now. I just dunno what keeps the fluid from draining into the fork.

 

The oil going in is covering the whole passage and not allowing it to vent what little air is trying to come back out
