Default Guess the noise cure

You are only allowed one guess.
Real noise with real cure attempts, which do you think cured it?

Elsewhere I wrote about my 1989 Electra glide with 3000 miles on it, which I bought back into service after 19 years of sitting in a "collection"
The only thing I could not find until today was a sound that happened in any gear, in neutral, while rolling or stopped, and was like a small bell ringing at the engine top end, at rev speed but only ever on the overrun, closed throttle. Open the throttle and its gone, close the throttle and its back.
While riding it sounded like a thumb nail running down a comb on overrun only. While standing by bike and revving it sounded like a toffee hammer hitting the inside of the rocker cover- only on overrun.
Was it:-
1. broken weld on exhaust heat shield?
2. previous owners gremlin bell hidden under tank?
3. Muffler (silencer) end bracket rattling?
4. Throttle cable rattling against inside of tank?
5. Pin hole in after market compliance fitting?
6. Cam chest gear issue?
7. Lifter oilway blocked?
8. Rear mudguard cracked under seat?
9. mirror glass rattling in frame
10. Headlamp glass rattling.

Major kudos for a correct guess.

My guess is that it was the last thing you checked.

I had a noise similar to that on my 98 Fatboy. Every time it would get up over 3200 rpm I could hear and feel it... For the longest time I couldn't figure it out till one day I was out without my wife and it was gone... Turned out that above 3200 rpm with her on the bike her petuzella would rattle and get all excited... So I decided that was one noise I would put up with...

I'm going with # 3. Muffler (silencer) end bracket rattling, actually the rubber inserts in the brackets harden and produce engine death sounds.

If I knew what a toffee hammer was, I'd venture a guess. But I don't, so I'll have to sit this one out.
