Default Swapped Primary's.......

So tonight after work I swapped out my Belt drive for the OEM setup.... No issues at all. Took it out for a little ride afterwords and actually has less vibration throughout the entire bike.... Definitely Smoother and A lot quieter... Shifts perfect and no problems with the starter, didn't miss a beat... Started at 5 and was done by 9:30. The OEM doesn't look as good as the belt drive but watch gonna do.. Function over Formalities...

I guess you want to sell a belt drive unit?
You are not encouraging me-
I just made some upgrades (I hope) and installed a BDL belt .
It weighs 22 lbs lighter they the chain drive stuff!

Can't remember right now------- 1.25 belt? Not very wide.
My bike is use for touring and did not want a belt out in the wind .
It will fit inside the primary cover, but I am going to vent it. anyway
This BDL kit comes with a lock-up clutch.
I hope I made the right choice ......................

Most likely if it's an under the cover belt it's at least 1.625". Had one on mine a few years back...

That might be it..I will look when ai get out there today..
I have to finish the pistons and do the final mock-up.
I changed to roller rockers and want to make sure they dont kiss the pistons
When the pinion slipped they did, just so barely ..
.but of course enough. I am glad they did not break them or the heads!

Yea, sometimes it's just enough of a tap to collapse the lifter without bottoming the Piston in the lifter.

Wink

Did you include the Suntech balance device in your 'new' build? Is that responsible for your smoother ride, by any chance?!

Honestly Graham, I really don't know. I've never rode without it however the OEM chain setup is much smoother than my belt setup.... This is only preliminary though, I only went out for 5-6 mile ride last night. The one thing I did notice though was that my over all ratio changed from 3.36:1 to a 3.28:1. Because my clutch Basket is only a 36 tooth not the 37 that is what it should be.. I know it's a very small change but I'm not shifting as quickly. A longer ride should sorry it all ..

I'm not that one tooth is anything to be concerned about! When I bought my Glide new it had 32/61 belt drive, compared with the stock US spec of 32/70. We get used to what we have and once the horizon beckons you'll be too busy flying......
