Default Wheel Options

Hey guys I just got a 98 Ultra. Very clean anniversary edition bike. Im looking to do some customization to it to make it mine. My first hurdle is i would like to replace the front wheel with a king spoke wheel. Id really like a 21" wheel but wont that throw off the speedo? Not sure what I can do to resolve the issue with the mechanical speedo drive. Next thing is if I have to stay with a smaller wheel what options are there? Can i run a 19 with a smaller tire to be about the same height as the stock wheel and tire?

My 95 Heritage and 94 softail custom have a 2240-60 or 2260-40 (I never can remember which it is) speedo drive.
One has a 16" wheel and the other a 21" wheel.
They are virtually the same height with tires installed.

Correct as usual.

I put a 21" wheel under my stock fender when I had a 1998 FLTR. Get the 3.5" wide, it'll look fantastic!

Thats good news! I was concerned that the speedo would be way off and it would mess up the cruise control. So from there Id like to know what size tire to get with a 21 3.5 wheel

The front wheel\tire combos from 16"-19" are basically the same height and your speedo should be close to accurate. I have a 19" and it's only off a couple MPH from my GPS. A Sportster or wide glide speedo drive might work for the 21" wheel, it uses a different ratio than a touring bike. I haven't done it so you might have to play around with the spacer on the left side

Looks like I was late to the party - no replies when I started my post

I'm pretty sure their hub is the same exact size as the moco hub. I would just pull the wheel bearing and make sure it is adequately greased.

Fat front tire? I'm thinking the stock width is 130. They make a 120/70-21 too. That's what I ran.
