Default ‘94 FXDL Turn Signal Module Location?

I just installed LED turn signals on front and rear of my 94 Lowrider (Kuryakyn Kellerman Atto) and as expected they stay illuminated rather than flash.

I’m guessing this is a load issue right?

I’ve seen there are a few load equalizers available.

The service manual for my year says the turn signal module is under the seat bolted to the frame. Can I simply swap this out for an aftermarket load equalizer or do I need to wire something in elsewhere?

Thanks

EDIT:

Will this option just be a plug and play solution?

I don't know where its located on your bike, but I assume you've got one of the true "modules", not just the little blinker can thing.

Look for a box about the size of a pack of cigarettes with a plug sticking out the back.

My opinion is to replace the module with a new, digital unit that is compatible with the LEDs, rather than add artificial resistance to the system with load equalizers. Badlands has one that is well regarded. I put one on my ElectraGlide, and am very pleased.

It's on the back bone under the ignition switch/speedometer.
just install 2 load equalizers and connect them to the rear turn signal wires under the seat.
That's the easiest place to tap and hide the LE's.

I think that must be a different model, my switch is on the handlebar, I just have tach/speedo on the tank.

Last time I had the tank off there was nothing on the backbone, and even the connectors were right down the back end of the backbone.

Seems like it’s under the seat I think.

What is a digital module? I’ve noticed Badlands do an auto-cancelling box which replaces the whole module and includes load equalizer.

Your title was

'94 FXDL Turn Signal Module Location?

That's what I responded to.
Mine's about the size of a pack of cigarettes, not fitting that under the seat.

Sorry I didn’t mean to cause confusion, I just mean I have a 94 FXDL and there’s no ignition switch on the tank.

I should’ve made a better title as I found the module after I looked in the service manual, it’s under the seat.

I guess my title should have been which module to replace it with. I’d rather go plug and play just so I don’t need to cut the harness but it looks like the load equalizer is like $30 whereas the plug and play is an auto cancelling module that’s like $100

Leave the module if it's working and just add the 2 LE's. They're small, basically just resistors. Only put them on the blinkers,
they get hot under constant use. so don't put them on the running light wires.
If you install a Run/brake/turn module from Custom Dynamics, that turns the rear turn only to run/brake/turn it has a LE built in.
It's not plug-n-play but it's not hard to install if you can read.

Don't think any one makes a plug and play... stick with load equalizers.. It's common that other issues will arise when modifying any system, then you'll have real problems...

Ok thanks for the replies.

I know I’m being stubborn about wanting a plug/play module and it’s not because I’m work-shy (I’ve just spliced and soldered the handlebar harness and turn signals) it’s more that I’d like to avoid cutting the harness wherever possible.

Here’s a pic of my turn signal canceller, and would this 10-pin canceller (with built-in load equalizer) work?

Looks like you found something there.. According to their description I would say yes.. Always a good idea to confirm with a phone call though..
