Default Right side cover

Anybody put a 93-96 side cover (oil tank under transmission) on an early Evo with a right side oil tank? If so, any issues other than cutting the hole for the oil tank fill spout? What does the bottom mounting bolt attach to? I went to later side latch bags, bag guard eliminators, and battery under seat. I cut my stock side cover to match the new bag and will fab a bottom attach point, but the newer side cover has a cleaner profile. Also, anyone have a source for the fill spout grommet? Obsolete from HD.

Thanks.

Frank

Some of the other guys have done what you want to do and will hopefully chime in.

The grommet is part # 11436. I recently got one from a dealer. You need to go to the parts counter and have them do a locator search of the part number. They can find almost anything (world wide) if the will, then it's just a matter of getting the other dealer to ship it to you. (Most dealers don't or won't ship parts unless they're a big operation and then, will rob you on UPS charges)

The one I found was only 175 miles away, and she was good enough to mail it on her day off. Their sister dealership has a discontinued glove box seal I need and they won't ship it, so I'll have to do a day ride whenever they open back up...

PS: I measured and looked everywhere for a regular "grommet" that would work from industrial and body suppliers but never found one that was anywhere close to the size I measured and the thickness of the cover.
