Recently purchased a 1993 Electra glide sport(flhs).
P.o tried to change in to a softail Fatboy look, and I'm in the process of changing it back in to a road king style.
I know I'm basically trying to reinvent the wheel, but that's what happens when you go a hd dealer and buy a bike on the wim.
My current issue is how the rear fender is supposed to be mounted on these bikes. Purchased a 04 Electra glide CVO fender off of eBay to put on it. I know I will need to drill new mounting hole locations, just unsure bout what hardware is supposed to be used and where is the true mounting locations?
And help would be appreciated, pictures would be even better!
93 rear fender was mounted using upper shock bolts and rear frame ears with spacers in junction with the fender struts.
04 fender has totally different mount hole locations because the MOCO welded ears to the frame for fender to bolt to.
Go to Ronnies micro fiche online and they still have 93 diagrams so you can see the difference.
Not sure if this is helpful or not because I am not sure of the differences between 93 FLHS models and 96 FLHT models (and 94 was year one for the Road King)
Any way a coupe of pics of the rear fender on my 96. Maybe it helps, gets you started, gives you an idea?
