extra regulator ground wire?
I have a 1984 FLTC EVO using a 32 AMP system instead of 22 just wanted to get some advice on grounding regulators I have been plagued with charging issues lately my regulator is mounted to the front bracket paint is removed and it shows a good earth from battery the whole frame is good when testing from POS battery term to frame gets the same reading from battery as to frame so my question is have any of you added an extra ground wire from regulator up to NEG battery term? would it hurt any? I do use the extra ground wire pigtail which is also grounded to frame wondering if running it up to NEG post would be better? I also have been known to go chensy on reg and stators I ordered new ones from cycle electric I hear they are best
I have also upgraded mine to 32 amp system. If you’re reading at frame connection I would think you’re good and no need for another ground. I like having a voltage gauge to keep an eye on my charging system at all times. Going with Cycle Electric is a good choice.
Here's best place to wire the extra ground wire. (the stator plug has been modified) hat tip YD.

John beat me to it and I always use it.. Just a short wire with 2 electrical eyelets and star washer to aid in the grounding that is attached between the regulator mount screw nut and frame.. Also check all other chassis ground.. Very important..
On another note, the plug connector at the case is a weak point. Last stator replaced I made a soldered connection at the stator leads and fished them thru the connector plug , then made a more solid connection.
