Coil Mounting help?
Bike is a 1984 FLHT
There are a couple of mounting brackets on the front down tubes frame and currently the coil sits loosely between them (I say loosely, as there is only one side with a bolt through, and that didn't have a nut!). This makes me a little unsure that it is orientated correctly.
Currently the electrical connections and plug lead outlets are at the top, pointing upwards. This means the plug leads are having to do a sharpish 90 degree turn as they hit the bottom of the frame top tube. I bought a plug lead set supposedly for my model, but the shorter front cylinder lead was too short. I assumed that the set was wrong but I'm thinking it may be the coil mounting?
Can anyone confirm the correct mounting? I've checked the parts manual, service manual, the owners handbook and Clymer but no joy.
Thank you!

Not 100% sure, but describing on my bike. On your top tube (where tank sits on) is where you will find the four small tabs mounted. They will be towards the front and on the underside. So, when you mount your coil, it is basically sitting above and forward of your front rocker box cover. It should be mounted with two small bolt and nuts (using 7/16" wrench). Coil output facing rearwards to connect to sparkplug wires. Hope that helps.
