I put one in my wife's 94 fatboy to help her run with us on interstate. She liked it, but this year I change her drive belt so I went to a 31 tooth sprocket on the transmission, to me it was a little tooo tall. Sixth was useless unless above 65-68. It is better with the 31 tooth sprocket.

I'd like to. My friend tells me that really is the death of the vtwin. All the F-in vibration, as it shakes itself to pieces, literally.
Plan on gettin' an Ultima 6 when I can.

I put a Ultima 6 speed on mine. Had it over 2 years now and love it. I have a 100" RevTec also. Don't use sixth until70mph or over. Here the speed limit is 65 on the HWY & 75 on the Interstate and crusing at 80 in sixth is like doing 60 in fifth on my bike.

Thats what I'm looking at is the ultima, some have said that it's just a lot of shifting. Did you find that the gearswind out sooner than the 5 speed. I do have a lot of long straight 75 mph roads whare I am and would love keep the rpm lower.

Years ago I installed the first of the Jims 6 speeds. Forgot to remove taller sprocket I added. Returned bike to stock. Absolutely believe it was the best addition to my bike. Have at least 15,000 miles on it. No problems. In SoCal the speed limit is 65. You don't stay alive here unless traveling 75 more like 80 on the freeways when there open and running. I'm in 6th gear all the time. With a 95' Sputhe kit bike goes like hell.

I've got a Ultima in my 93 Fatboy with 17,000 miles on it and no problems. You do shift more but the close ratios make the bike a joy to ride. I order to take full advantage of the tranny you need to change the trans pulley. First gear in the Ultima is 2.94 and the Harley is 3.24. If you don't change the pulley first gear is way to tall and like DirtyDave said sixth isn't usable until 65 plus. What model are you putting it in?

I'm building a hardtail with a 99 evo motor with mikuni carb, deadquarters cam, and 10 over pistons. At this point options are wide open.

What Fatboy said is true about changing pulleys. I didn't, but I have a 100" motor too.
