MP is right on with his comment as my experience was the same. I have however, seen a difference between Amsoil and Redline in the Twin Cams. When servicing a TC and changing from Amsoil to Redline, we have noticed a decrease in the engine chatter lots of folks complain about. Perhaps there is a difference, but I do know for sure that my engine is quieter now even with the roller rockers and V-thunder EVL 5015 cam than it was with the EV-27 and no roller rockers.

I prefer Castrol 20/50 Synthetic Blend.
Everyone in my area including my mechanic all are putting it their Harley's and we all like the way our bikes perform

BIG fan of Amsoil. I dont sell the stuff, and I have done COUNTLESS hours of research on oil. Most of the studies I have read put Royal Purple and Redline at #1. A very close second is Amsoil. Amsoil is also alot easier to get where I am at and any Farm and Fleet carry it. Over all I am VERY happy with thier product.

Default Amsoil

I use Amsoil in my '89 and have had no issues. I did use regular oil for the first 500 miles after my rebuild last winter. My top end got a little noisier after installing the Wood 6 cam which I believe is in the same ballpark as the EV27.

I have 26 years of running amsoil in my bikes and vehicals that i know i will keep many years in do run. I also run higher milage between changes, also know rideing and growing up in south fl that amsoil did stop the oil light flicker you would get with the old stock dino oil when stuck in traffic. I have had some older motors apart that looked like new when went in to change cams. Amsoil and redline are about the only ones that don't slam each other . Redline is just plane darn expensive and very hard to find here. I use to put up with a lot of crap from all about run'n it to. Stupid *** hd dealers called in snake oil for 20 years.
