there is a article in american iron about cv carbs basicallly they are saying is to buy a sportster needle and drill out the plug and change the one jet and 1.5 turns out that is it
Yeah for a bone stock bike with real gas.
Everything has changed with this US mandated 10% corn gas now! If you weren't lean, you are now! At 15% our motors wouldn't even run.
That tune would make my bike fall flat and probably be so lean it would burn-up.
that's great info on the cv carbs. i have a 92 fxr that i was trying to decide which s&s or mikuni i was going to use. guess i'll just get my cv 40 dialed in instead. i'm amazed every time i get in the forum, lots of great information in here.
I've been using Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant, the complete fuel treatment for increasing gas mileage, BAD GAS, fuel conditioner, NEUTRALIZES Poor Quality Fuel, injector cleaner, lubricates rings, more power, less cylinder wear, lubricates pumps, carburetors, complete combustion burn, fewer emissions, creates a cushion seal at valves, less valve wear, etc. I have been using it for yrs in my race cars and seems to really help. I started using it in my bike w/corn gas!
Somebody soon will have a product to help with the corn gas, imho!
Create it and make a million before they outlaw it...
Sta-bil has a new product out that helps the ethanol problem. we've been using and reccomending it for about six months now with good results. So if you can find it at your local parts place you should try it. Hope this helps.
