EGC lowers
I just bought an 05 electra glide classic, fuel injected. What is the designation for that? I see lots of F:HTC and all.
Anyway, I also bought a set of lowers for the bike and took about a 300 mile trip. The problem is there is an upturned lip at the top of the lower. I feel lots of air on me up and over the tank.
Any thoughts on modification? I also thought I would have more wind protection on my legs and feet but I still feel the cold here. Not too cold but at 32 and riding, the cold gets bitter really fast.

The upturned lip indicates that you have a set of Road Glide lowers. You may want to trade them for Electra Glide lowers. You didn't mention if you had the faring wind deflectors. If not, get the adjustable ones. They help keep you warm or cool.
The little piece that mounts on the lower tree REALLY helps keep the wind off, but you are on a motorcycle, there is going to be wind on you. A full face helmet and a snowmobile suit will help greatly in 32f weather.

Sounds like you have Road
Glide lowers. I had an '05 EG Ultra with the lowers and the baffle under the triple tree, while not wind free it was beneficial during winter riding. Pics will give us a better idea of what you got.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the clear deflectors on the batwing. They cover the curved portion. I wonder if fork mounted lowers would help deflect the air away from the upturned lip the lowers?
I reckon I ought to sell these lowers since they are for a road king and get the set designed for the EGC. I like the looks of the lowers and I am sure they are more aerodynamic than the soft bag looking covers that fit the gap of the crash bar.
On a celebrational note, I joined H.O.G. today and also joined the group here in Raleigh. Great bunch of folks everywhere here in the harley world!

Are there different types of deflectors for the FLHTCI? Even though I now know I have Road King lowers on my 05 EGC, I was wondering what others deflectors I might install. I have the deflectors on the curved portion of the batwing already.
your current lowers are prob. for Road Glide.
(Not Road-King.)
Basically there are 2 versions: 1 for Road-Glides and 1 for Electra-Glides/Road-Kings.
At least the EG-version is available as Vented or Non-Vented, I don't know about the RG-version.
