Default Red Line Heavy

Hi Guys...I love my 05 Road King Custom, had it for a year now no problems..
I thought I would put Red Line Heavy in the tranny over the winter. I think it was a mistake, as now I have developed a leak at the bottom of the tranny.
It is not the drain plug..or the shift lever, and I do not see it coming out of the main shaft area either..If I shine a light over the primary I can see it at the bottom below the main shaft, like a little ridge area, where it is collecting..Some one mentioned it could be the trap door, but I do not know where it is or what they are on about. Probably should of stuck to conventional oil, with a 5 speed.
Any thoughts on this appreciated...Thanks Brummie..

I guarantee you it's not the fluids fault. That stuff is much thicker than 20w-50 so if it's dripping out motor oil would pour out.
Get it up on a stand after a good ride while it's nice and hot and trace down the leak.
I have been using shockproof heavy since I bought my bike and it hasn't sprung any leaks and that stuff is so thick and sticky I seriously doubt it could cause a leak.
I would love to know how it could cause a leak. It's not detergent like engine oil is,it's way thicker,I just don't see how it could.

Default 05 road king tranny

Hi There...Thanks for the reply..I do not think it is the oil either..Although I have heard people say you can have too thicker oil in the tranny...Looks like it has to be stripped down any way...I think I am going to leave it and just check oil level occasionally....The oil leak for now is only the size of a dime..Any idea of the cost if the stealer was to fix it...Thanks Brummie

If you pull the tranny yourself about $600 (that is what I did).
If you let them do all the work add about $800 to that.

I had a leak, I replaced the gasket myself, unless I'm confused, numbered the screws as they are different lengths and got the harley gasket for around $30, torque as per the manual with blue loctite.
