Check your bottom oil breather, when I first got Ester she had spuing issues from there

AIM has a sporty q&a that addresses your oil issues. The short answer is to run 1/2 a quart low. Just research it in the forums

Looks like you have a very nice piece to begin with Lumpy. Those bikes are very owner friendly when it comes time for maintenance...a good one for you to learn on and like you said, much cheaper than the latest crop.

The Sporty isn't suffering from the overfill of oil issue they are known for. I ran the oil LOW and it still leaked. The problem started right after I had the local dealership replaced the base gaskets on it. Now after the bike warms up, the oil will start a single bead running down my rear pipe. After that, it mists on my oil tank and collects on the back of the engine below the oil tank. I pulled the air cleaner off and there really isn't any residual oil in it, so maybe one of the top end gaskets was put on wrong.
