already got it covered, barnett HD spring plate and extra-plate pack (all new friction plates and steels). if this doesnt hold it, i'll be dropping another $500ish for a Rivera Pro setup (dont think i'll need it though)

That will work, we would have to sell a kidney to get an engine big enough to use the Rivera. Have fun

whats your opinion on the belt? its about the *only* thing I didnt upgrade/replace throughout this whole build, because it only had 5000 original miles on it (but it *is* 14 1/2 years old)

I've looked @ chain conversions, they're not a whole lot more $$ than a replacement belt, and the chain is arguable stronger. I dont know exactly what i'm going to be putting down for power (*hoping for low to mid 90's hp/tq), but the idea of being able to repair a broken chain with a piece of coat hanger wire and a master link on the side of the road (vs calling a buddy with a trailer)

I have this nagging feeling that i'm gonna break it when we put it on the dyno

Hard to say on belts and takes alot of power to snap them, my stock belt started sqeeking and stretched in areas but didn't snap. HD makes a sidecar belt for our rolling couches that replaced the sqeeky belt, my buddy runs a chain on his Evo softail and has stretched a couple of them so the only standout out would be able to limp home on a chain.

I'll have to look into that one. my indy recommended a dayco (kevlar?) belt over the stock HD. they've had really good luck with them.

Put 250 miles on her today, damn she runs STRONG. Can't wait til I can get a day off to go get her some dyno time, and really get everything dialed in.

as a celebration (and cause I was effing COLD after 6 hours today), i went by harley and got myself a deal and a half. ~ 30% off a HD/Gerbings jacket liner, gauntlets, and a 2circuit thermostat.

HD HD belt number 40130-03, probaly just a kevlar as you mentioned, it is pricey but had an outlet at the time of purchase.

Warm gear, probaly a good deal to reward yourself as we won't be able to get you off the bike now!

Sittin on top of a Evo with night and day's difference from a stocker is better than any mind altering drug, can't explain the feeling a crisp throttle gives the already soul grabbing Evo, all I can say is enjoy.

PS: you will start finding yourself looking at stroker kits shortly

another ~150 miles today.

she runs warm, even in the 40degree temps (oils getting up to 200-220F). debating an oil cooler

upside, changed the plugs (these were the plugs from the first start up, although they didnt foul like i thought they would have). they look good color wise (yes, i know its hard to read plugs with the new E10 fuel)....but they aint white, and they aint black....so i'm close on the jetting. (running a 165 main now)

might have to bump to a 170 main. she broke up a bit at ~ 5200rpm in 4th gear :P

Those plugs make me think you are running a bit rich.

I have a Jagg 6 core oil cooler on my bike and it make one hell of a difference.

^^^dont forget i'd poured ~ 1-2oz of lucas in each cylinder during assembly to keep the top end *lubed* during initial start up. im fairly sure its all burned off, but I also expected it to foul the first set of plugs (it didn't)

I'll pull these plugs in a week or so and check em.

is this the oil cooler you were talking about?

(if i do it, worth running this automatic t-stat? http://www.jpcycles.com/product/740-924 )
