Default Too much $$ for a 95 Road King??

Looking at a very clean 95 Road King with 34K, has a few extras - pipes - seat - chrome - etc. Got the guy down to $6900 for it & it's the best deal I can find right now......looking for a second opinion.

Drop $6K cash in his lap and say "take it or leave it."

If he doesn't bite, leave your card with him and tell him to contact you if he changes his mind. If he calls you a week later saying ok, he'll take the $6K…tell him the price just dropped to $5.5K.

Good luck.

Default on the other hand,

If you want it, buy it. The price seems reasonable to me.

X2....The market is still flooded with used bikes and many garage queens. I think too many people buy there bikes with their hearts instead of their wallet.

The market prices differ depending on what part of the country you live in. Where are you located at?

95 RK? Probably in the $6000-$6500 range. But pricing really depends on location and availability. I appraise my 93 FLHS at about $5000-$5500. Which is about half of what it cost me new twenty years ago. But not many buyers are looking for a twenty year old Harley. So it really depends on how badly you want that particular bike. I would do as replied and drop 60 Bens on the table and see if that buys it.

As been said, location means alot, how many previous owners.
I think what you've gotten him down to is reasonable especially if it doesn't need tires and there's no leaks meaning it was well taken care of, never been dumped etc. Have you got a picture from advertisement?

No one can tell you what a used bike (especially if it is more than a few years old) with out looking at it up close and personal.
Most people's advertised price is a more than they actually expect go get/
My negotiation method is a little different than most, but it works for me. When I'm buying, new or used - I tell the seller that I am interested in the bike and am not going to insult them with a low-ball offer. I tell them to give me their best price and I will either buy the bike or thank them for their time and walk away.

A good deal is a deal you are happy with.

Thanks for the input fellas. The last 2 bikes I picked up were bought solely on the low price factor not because they were what I was wanting at the time <93 FXSTC -$4200; 89 FLHS - $2500>. But I agree $6K - $6.5K is probably about correct for the bike, but this guy is firm at $6.9K. I am specifically looking for a clean, low miles pre 97 RK.......getting harder to find all the time. Think I will hold out a bit longer, I already have 2 bikes to keep me company. Maybe let the market's spring fever come down a bit.

BTW, market is NC.
