Thanks Kozmo, Yes I am lucky. I live in the country but close enough to the city to make descent money. One hour to the mountains and not to far from Florida. I was in Myrtel beach last month. If I was rich and retired Id stay on the road. I would love to see the Pacific coast again.

Last week on the Dragon I saw a guy and his wife on new Heritage in the ditch. Luckly they did not go off the other side of the road or it would be big air time.

Sounds like you had a nice couple of days.. The weather has been great!! Not sure if you did it or not, but, if you're gonna do the Dragon, I recommend Moonshiner 28 too.. In fact, I prefer it.. The Dragon is a world renowned 11mi bucket list thing, but not much more than bragging rights to me.. For 103mi of beautiful scenery with some waterfalls and nice twists thrown in, 28 is a great ride.. It goes from Fontana, right at the end of the Dragon, all the way into Walhalla SC.. The nice ride starts in Highlands..

I'm with ya on the Moonshiner HGM. Went and did the Dragon again a couple of months back and took the Moonshiner 28 South from Robbinsville, NC down to Walhalla, SC, then got back on the superslab to Fl.

The Dragon is awesome, no doubt. The Moonshiner is too. The waterfalls are unreal. I like Bridal Veil Falls, great photo op where you can take a pic of your bike behind the waterfall. Also Dry Falls, where you can walk behind the waterfall.

When you get right down to it, the whole 4 state area NC, SC, TN and North GA are hard to beat when it comes to twisty riding. You could make a list of spectacular roads a mile long and still miss a bunch of them.

Very jealous of you Aces&8s for living so close to such awesome riding. I'm here in Florida but I'm still only 1 long day's ride from there so it could be worse.

BTW, don't know if y'all have heard of it, but we have our own version of the "Tail of the Dragon" here that Florida riders talk about.

But instead of "318 Curves in 11 Miles", the Florida version has 11 curves in 318 miles.

depending on where you start, 800 miles may not get you out of texas. seems like half the miles i rack up are just getting out of texas.
